| 8.93 “FIND THE FORD” Type Two way patrol Deployment 12” on table (scouts 18”) Extra Scenery River Extra Forces N/A Scenario The Anglo-Egyptian player must find if a river lying across the column’s route is fordable. The Commander has ordered you to check out the area and report back. If it is fordable he will divert the column. Anglo-Egyptian Player To find the ford, a non-scout unit must score a 5,6 on its first search, 4,5,6 on its second search, or 3,4,5 or 6 on subsequent searches. After each search is unsuccessful the unit must move at least one move AP before it can search again. Searching costs 2 AP. To finish the game the Anglo-Egyptians need to exit some forces to report off their base edge. To ‘report back’ a total of 14 AP need to be scored. Each base of troops (not scouts) that exits rolls d6. In addition a ‘report back’ can only be made if a non-scout unit scouts the ford. The bases exiting need not be from the unit that scouts the ford because a runner may have passed on the information. These bases cannot leave the start edge until the scenery has been successfully scouted. If the ford is occupied by your troops (i.e both sides of the river secured) then that is a bonus. Dervish Player The Dervish player must place a river no more than 4” wide, connecting the two long edges of the table. The river must be 12” from the Dervish start edge. Extra Victory Points · 4d6 if report back made. · 3d6 if the ford is still held at games end. |
